Description

Our opinion:-

Essential for spares or repairing your damaged Alloy Poles.

Most manufacturers do not warranty poles. The biggest problem with Tents & Awnings is damage to the poles, with Alloy poles this is generally just bending or sometimes snapping, usually through storm damage. Alloy poles will also retain a bent shape after a few uses, whilst this is normal it can sometimes become an extreme bend. This can make it harder to erect the tent and lead to weakness of the pole

A Broken pole is going to ruin your holiday, so always carry one or two spares and know how to change a pole. All you need is Junior Hacksaw or a basic pipe cutter to cut the pole to size.

What the manufacturer says:-

Vango Alloy Pole Sets are constructed from a lightweight aluminium alloy which is also incredibly strong and durable - meaning that these poles won't let you down. Contains five sections of aluminium alloy pole, along with pole tips and elastic.

Length 55cm x 8.5mm diam. (5 Sections)

 Alloy Pole Repair Instructions

Your pole is made up of set number of sections and an elasticised cord. The cord runs through each section and is simply knotted through a pole tip at either end.

 1. Measure the section / sections which are to be replaced (the new section will probably need to be cut to length). Mark the section length and cut the new section to the length measured. We would recommend using a plumbers pipe cutter or similar. Once cut, the end should be filed smooth. Tip- It may also be necessary to run the file inside the cut section.

2. Remove the pole end from one end of the pole and untie the knot, holding onto the end of the cord.

3. Remove the sections, one at a time until you reach the section/sections that need to be replaced (when it is time to re-assemble the pole it is important that the sections are put back in the same order. Tip: It may be beneficial to use numbered stickers on the sections so there is no doubt of the order).

4. Re-thread the cord back through the sections and tie a knot through the pole end.
