Our Opinion:-

Well designed easy to pitch lightweight 3 berth tent with extended porch making it ideal D of E and lots of other Outdoor Activities. A simple 3 hoop tunnel tent using Robens HydroTex HD RS polyester outer giving a 5000mm Hydrostatic head , flat pole sleeves and Yunan alloy poles . good ventilation options with fly mesh to help keep the bugs out.

The extended porch is great living area/ gear storage area. There is only one door to the porch which is a slight disappointment

The Voyager 2EX weighs in at 3.4kg which is good for a tent in this price range and has a compact pack size

Great value from Robens who are a well respected manufacturer

What the manufacturer says:-

The two-person Voyager 2EX is a stable tunnel tent thanks to features that include the new ripstop polyester outer, flat pole sleeves and Yunan alloy poles. The large extended porch is perfect for expedition pack storage or for foul weather relaxation that is much appreciated by self-supported trekkers, cyclists and other adventurers. Low vents assist airflow to minimise condensation.

  • Top vents adjust from inside the inner
  •  Easily adjustable pole tension
  •  Extended porch for gear, cooking and dining
  •  Divider can be adjusted sideways to tailor inner bedroom configuration
  •  Luminous zip pulls
  •  Colour coded alloy poles and pole sleeves
  •  Pole sleeves closed one end for easy pole insertion
  •  Adjustable main pegging points feature sturdy alloy buckles

Robens Tests

Robens Wind Test: The determination of the performance of a Robens tent in wind is based on the knowledge and technique available to Robens at the time of testing. During the test we register the maximum (MAX) speed impact a tent was subjected and the average (AVG) wind speed at which structural instability occurred. This may appear as a broken/deformed pole, or the collapse of the tent and subsequent return to shape when the wind drops. At no point was any form of catastrophic failure experienced up to the maximum wind speed.
